We're Hiring

We help visionaries and changemakers get the

grant funding they need to make a bigger impact.

We're Looking For

Grant Writing Associates

Who We Are

Krista Kurlinkus, LLC is a national, purpose-driven grant writing consulting firm that helps visionaries and changemakers get the grant funding they deserve.

Our mission is to help our students and clients improve their grant writing so they can do more of the work they love.

We are deeply invested in social, racial, economic, and environmental justice; insist upon integrity in all interactions with clients and students; and have a high-growth mindset.

We center diversity, equity, and inclusion. We stand firmly in our values, and they are not values we just adopted because it's "trendy" or "woke" to do so. Systemic inequality impacts how we show up in our jobs, the opportunities available to us, how others respond to us, and how we live as both grant professionals in the nonprofit and academic spaces and as members of other larger communities.

Job Description

  • Find and evaluate grant opportunities, using a variety of grant databases, such as Instrumentl and Grants.gov.
  • Conduct research for grant proposals.
  • Writing, revising, and editing grant proposals.
  • Read and understand nonprofit budgets and financial statements, and then be able to translate those budgets into the required grant formats.
  • Guide clients through budget development for programs.
  • Create or guide clients through the creation or gathering of required grant attachments.
  • Enter grant applications into online submission portals or compile grant submission materials for email or mail-in submission.
  • Work collaboratively with our clients to accurately capture their work in the proposal and design feasible programs, budgets, and timelines for their organization.
  • Manage grant projects well by maintaining clear communication and timelines with clients, problem solving, and anticipating roadblocks.
  • Follow our standard operating procedures for client communications, grant searches, grant writing, and grant submission.
  • Conduct client prospecting to identify and evaluate potential clients.

Location

Remote. Computer and reliable internet access is required.

Salary and Benefits

This is a 1099-contract position. Contractor must file their own taxes.

Contracts will be for a percentage of client project rates.

Education & Experience

B.A. required.

At least 2 years of full-time experience in grant writing is required.

Responsibilities, Skills, and Experience

  • Perform duties dependably, reliably, and with minimal supervision.
  • Pay attention to detail. This is the most important skill for this position as we need a second set of eyes to make sure we don't miss anything.
  • Use ClickUp to track task deadlines, update team on progress, and communicate needs. This is a support position, so if work is not completed on deadline or if we can't check on the status of a project at any given time, the role is not effective.
  • Use ClickUp to track time for client projects. This is extremely important for billing and must be done consistently.
  • Interact positively with clients and staff. Client interaction will be minimal, but may be necessary for helping the grant writing associate with information collection and approvals.
  • Communicate clearly in emails and meetings.
  • Use a friendly and professional tone while speaking with clients by email and Zoom.
  • Follow company policies and procedures for creating positive client interactions.
  • Think ahead to anticipate roadblocks and other issues that may arise with client projects and interactions.
  • Maintain awareness of current events and sensitivity to language around social and racial justice.
