Grounding & Noticing
Physically grounding yourself at the beginning of the session and then noticing your body, thoughts, and emotions throughout the session helps you refocus when your mind wanders, notice when you are having thoughts that aren’t what you want, and helps you recognize when you physically need something instead of turning to distracting, mindless, unfulfilling activity. Let’s notice our needs and fulfill them.
Mono-tasking
We help you mono-task or focus on one task or project at a time and not switching back and forth between these "contexts." Mono-tasking is the opposite of multi-tasking.
Because multitasking or context switching has these immediate negative impacts:
Body Doubling
Having someone sitting with you (even virtually) helps you accomplish tasks because you feel a sense of accountability and you can mirror that person’s focus and energy.
We also have you report on what your task or project is at the beginning of each session and then at the end to give you even more of a sense of accountability.
Taking True Breaks
We break our sessions up into focused work blocks and breaks. We let you know the schedule up front, post which segment we're in on the screen as we're in it, and we announce breaks and work block starts.
We actively encourage you to truly take your break, get up, stretch, move around, do a non-screen related task, and attend to your body's needs during breaks.
“That was amazing! I really needed that focus time. I am easily distracted, so having a time that I am guilt free for focusing was wonderful! 10 out of 10.”
Kathleen K.
“I had to shift to another priority project, but I still focused well on that. I love the structured approach, and I like the sense of community too, even if we don't personally engage.”
Sue E.
“Thank you so much for the space. It was much needed. I was able to complete my task as well. Yaaa!!! Have an amazing day everyone!”
Genice H.
“Thank you Krista and Julie for the time and space to do this! I got a lot of writing done. :)”
Ashwini G.
Each focused, virtual co-working session is facilitated by expert coaches who have years of
experience in creating a space for the energizing, focused time you need.
